What's the project is all about
The Goals We want to Achieve
Corvines, Jays help regenerate forests by planting caches of Acorns, They are observed to increase this activity after forest fires. Cacophany Arkestra want to work with community groups in Lytham, Warton, Preston to create a Caribbean Carnival, costumed series of street theatre inspired musical performances, that explore how Corvines preserve, sustain their environment by caching acorns. We want to: make crow costumes, co-write street theatre. Cacophany Arkestra a Preston based Carnival arts /music collective have 30 years experience developing Caribbean Carnival arts/music projects.
CA have since 2014 toured regionally, developing co-created Carnival arts projects within their community. Workshops will involve community groups based in Lytham, Warton Preston and focus on co-creating a song based narrative to be performed in costumes at a series of local events in 2026. Groups will get the opportunity to write songs, learn musical skills, make costumes & perform on the road at events.
